Depressed, lost and strung-out. Didn’t want to talk much about it since complaining here wont change anything. So I’m taking a break from everything else and back to my former old self – A console gamer . Finished a few games that was lingering on my table, and played RE5 : Alternate Edition on coop with Ultimaweaponx and Dark Steno.
For most of the part, it was similar with the original resident evil 5 version. Though the Barbarian and Office-women costume that was introduced in the PC ver are available in the first place. After playing half of the storyline, an extra mode ‘Lost in Nightmares’. Not as challenging as the Mercenary mode but you’ll enjoy the thrill and the puzzle. New type of enemy is introduced during the mode, a weird mutant zombie dragging along a massive anchor around. Killing it will require a massive amount of firepower, and one hit from it will kill you automatically. So the best choice available is to run away. The game ends feature no save point whatsoever and ends with fighting Wesker.
After finishing the story mode, Desperate Escape mode and The Mercenaries Reunion will be unlocked. For those looking for a skill challenge, Desperate Escape mode will test your overall skill. Majinis are everywhere, and they’ll spawn endlessly. Not only that, they also know how to use artillery weapon for most of the part. So there’s non-stop explosion like those in Micheal Bay movies. Unlike the Lost in Nightmare mode, this mode is less on puzzle solving and more on combat skill. As long as you shoot everyone on sight and keep running, you’ll be fine. Your weapons are on a fully upgraded spec, so taking down a boss majini should be much of a problem.
Finally, The Mercenaries Reunion. Somewhat similar with mercenaries mode, except the unbalanced character available. Especially Heavy Metal Chris and Rebecca Chambers. Heavy Metal Chris feature infinite ammo gatling gun and both protective armor(protect from bullet and melee damage). Rebecca Chambers…errr… She cute and those majini will die on fire from her cuteness, I was half-joking btw.
Overall, it’s a good buy to who wants more challenge out of the system. I mean, using midnight wesker all the time sure wears you out. Ok, enough of PS3(since I was playing on ultimaweaponx’s console), now back to PS2 for me.
