Free netbook… For everyone!!!

Just as Keikaku'ed

Just as Keikaku'ed

The PM has said it, yet, I say it again, students who are entering for a first year degree education starting this 1st of January will receive a priority to be offered one free netbook plus a broadband line( still no details yet ) for RM50 a month.

Consider this, you’re only paying for only two years( as stated here ), it’ll accumulate to RM1200 by the time you finished your degree. I assume the netbook model will surely based on the current Intel Atom( current price now ranging from RM1.2k to RM1.8k standard )which can’t do as much as watching a h264 video compressed anime. As for the broadband line, it’s too good to be 1MBps but let’s pray it does.

NO! Crysis won't even run on Atom!

NO! Crysis won't even run on Atom!

And some insight on transportation for students. Don’t be a pessimist into thinking they’re bribing the scholars.

Not a certain yukkuri railways...

A certain yukkuri railways...

Here’s the line :

Now students live in a carefree world?

Carefree students can now ride in a carefree train?

A 50% discount for public transportation, I surely hopes this do benefit me ( assuming I’m going to stay on-campus ).

Other development that relevant to my interest :

  • Government body will a loan of RM5k every 3 year to buy their own PC ( RM5k for a PC? What PC? ).
  • RM11.3billion to upgrade and promote current Malaysia broadband speed to 10MBps stage-by-stage.
  • RM200million to develop creative industry( can we have our own anime now? ) to promote more creative context.

i am guessing they’re using the MIMOS based netbooks, since MIMOS it’s a GLC company.
